My favorite Channels

Nature: Discovery, Science, Animal Planet
Sports: nba, football
HBO: educational shows, entourage
nip tuck

fav shows:
-anything to do with wild jungle animals eg. croc hunter, meerkat manor, Top 50 wild hunters
-anything to do with man Vs. nature: survivor man, man vs nature, etc
-mythbusters

random facts I recently learnt:
- lions do not typically attack humans but are naturally curious
- can boil dirty water in plastic bottle and it won't melt
- if stuck in HOT desert, keep clothes on, you dehydrate faster if u remove them
- there's so much to discover under the seas..there are points where light does not reach..but creatures still survive down there
- lions are only social cats..playtime is important for them to hone their hunting skills
- leopards have such strong necks tht they can drag their prey up trees with just their mouth etc (now I feel like watching discovery)

dream job: discover wild random facts abt nature..explore savannah, track lions and leopards

The Apartment Hunter

Approaching graduation, gotta find apartment.
Options: craigslist, word of mouth
Looking for: clean, mature roommates. Reasonable price. Access to T.
Areas: Allston, Watertown, Boston

Ola Costa Rica

Help! my gf is going away to Costa Rica for 6 months! It seems like this is going to be a rough cold winter!
Current plan: bury myself in my new job and work looooong hours until the summer rolls around.

On the flipside, I'm happy for her (jealous too) cos I think she's gonna have a wonderful experience!

Job Interviews

I'm thinking that I should write a book on job interviewing after the wide interviewing experience I've had this semester. I've have practically interviewed everywhere from big software firms e.g. Microsoft, LYCOS to financial firms to small firms with three ppl. etc
I've had phone interviews, online exams, mailed technical exams, technical presentations, technical projects etc etc. It has really been a long exciting but tedious process that I'm glad is coming to fruition.

Cheating in Grad School

Classes winding down. Takin interesting algo class although sometimes it can go slow. Prof. Betty Salzberg seems to have caught her stride. We recently had exam which I was unprepared for due to interviews. However, yesterday it was returned and I didn't do too bad..A-.

I was surprised tho that some of my classmates were caught cheating. I wonder whether cheating is more prevalent among international students or common everywhere. Looking back, I don't have much exp. with taking classes with Americans. All through undergrad most of my CS classes where with internationals.

In grad school @ northeastern, it's even more pronounced. I'd say 90% of the CS masters students are from India or China. I can confidently assume I'm the only African in the program. Thus I'm not surprised when my professors assume I'm also from India.

Anyway, back to the cheating. I feel that if ur still cheating on exams by the time ur in grad school, then u shd really evaluate if this is what you wanna do for a living cos clearly ur not willing to do the ground work. Plus , is it really worth the risk????

Family Vacation

too many pics to post plus lost ma camera
the family vac was by far and obviously the best time I had all summer. Susan, Jerry + rest of fam in Florida which is hot as hell. We were crammed in one minivan - 15ppl. Aunt Justine and Aunt Cate were wooed by TimeShare salesmen to purchase timeshares. Universal Studios was a blast. I was proud of cuz Anita's entrepreneurial prowess as we managed to flip our Disney tix on the last day of trip since we had week long passes. Also met old friends like Vik and Davis. Flew to DC which was also fun exp. Lost my camera tho..not good.
