Microsoft Bing

To Bing, or not to Bing.

I’ve just been looking at this tour guide about Microsoft’s latest attempt at overthrowing Google.

Hmmm, bing is not looking bad in this article à

Is King James the best NBA player today?

This wonderful article summarizes game 4 of the Cavs Magic game.

http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/9615264/Howard's-determination-lifts-Magic-over-Cavs

The part of the article that answers this qn is at the end>>

The lies

·  LeBron is as good as Michael Jordan.

·  LeBron is as good as Kobe Bryant.

·  LeBron has become an extraordinary defender because he blocks breakaway layups from behind.

·  The Cavs are the best team in the NBA.

·  Mike Brown is the best coach in the NBA.

·  Dwight Howard is Superman. Captain Marvel, perhaps, but certainly not the Man of Steel.

·  Dwight Howard is the best defensive player in the NBA.

·  The referees have been advised to rig the games so that Kobe and LeBron will meet in the Finals. In fact, everybody who subscribes to this — and other — conspiracy theories is only doing so because their favorite team turned out to be losers.

Ivan’s graduation: http://picasaweb.google.com/galiwango.a/IvanGrad#

I just got back from a road trip to Indiana for Ivan’s graduation.
It was very exciting to reunite with friends and family at Manchester College.
I went with Sandra, Diana + Ray, Don.
We drove for about 15hrs back and forth over the weeknd to get to Indiana and back. IT was worth the trip in the long run though.

It was really nice to see Ivan graduate. Also present for his graduation were Uncle Paul, Uncle Ste + fam, Aunt Margaret, Aunt Sara. It was another big group of family that came to Manchester for yet another graduation ceremony.
The ceremony itself went off without a hitch, it was nice and sunny. The commencement was nice and short. There were about 200 students graduating so it did not take a very long time to get through everyone’s name. Afterwards, we went to a Chinese buffet restaurant in Wabash for a long awaited lunch at abt 4pm.

During that time, Ivan was coerced to give a speech and he indeed delivered a touching speech. I then asked everyone around the room to share a memory or experience that they had with Ivan and as you can imagine, there were a lot of tears of joy as emotions started to ran high. It was a great time of joy and immediately after the dinner, we drove back to Boston.

Now for the Lakers game at 9pm

Innovative Technology in Uganda: Monitor vs. NewVision

Not too many things have impressed me with the technology scene in Kampala like this latest innovation from the Daily Monitor. If you have not already seen this, I encourage you to check out eMonitor - http://epaper.monitor.co.ug/DM/DM/2009/05/12/index.shtml

This is pretty much the Daily Monitor onLine onSteroids.

As the screenshot above shows, it’s a truly heavenly experience. You feel like you are actually reading the newspaper in a coffee shop in Kampala, complete with Classifieds, local advertisements and cartoons.

At this point, NewVision (www.newvision.co.ug) had better pull up their socks and not rely on govt. backing otherwise they will lose major market share.

RE: SQL tips: Dealing with Maximum length is 128 error

Ever got this sql error?

Msg 103, Level 15, State 4, Line 12

The identifier that starts with '…' is too long. Maximum length is 128.

Reasons: Literal text is enclosed in single quotes.  Identifiers (Like column names) may be enclosed in double quotes.  Because you've put the text in double quotes, it is saying that your column name (That whole block of text) is too long. - http://forums.asp.net/t/982587.aspx

Fix: Remove the default ANSI settings in your Query options

Uncheck the SET ANSI_DEFAULTS as shown..

Your script with double quotes should now run just fine.

Celtics torch Magic

I stopped watching the game in the 3rd Quarter.
Game Highlight: After hitting the three, Eddie House was bitch-slapped by Rafer "Skip 2 Ma Lou" Allston. LMAO
Hmmm, I'd love to see Skip do the same to Garnett.

NBA Playoffs 2009 : Round 2 - the Challenge

West:

Gone fishing:
Nuggets: CP3 ought to be ashamed after that thorough beating

Jazz: Coach Sloan needs to retire. Everyone (him inclusive) knows he’ll never win a title

Spurs: I’m still not sure they are out. They might change the finals rules to allow them a game 8. These guys always find a way to come back.

Blazers: Making the playoffs was a good enough accomplishment

My pick to win: The Lakers

Meanwhile, I like how everyone is writing off the MAVs (GO JJ Bareeeaaaa, Go Husky!) in this playoff series.

I hear analysts talk abt how the nuggets vs lakers match up will go. This shows total disregard for the Rockets and Mavs (Go JJ Barea!)

I'd be heated if I was Yao Ming. How dare you count out Ron-Artest.
Here is a Ron Artest quote on Lebron:"He reminds me of a younger me - A new improved Ron Artest"
And you dare count out this dude?

If there's anything to learn in this playoffs, it’s the fact that Nothing is over until the Fat Lady sings!

East:

Gone fishing:

Bulls: I’m personally hurt by their loss because I was hoping for an upset

Heat: Wade will never see another title as long as he stays in Miami

76ers: Hedo’s clutchness was the dagger in the coffin for this playoff series.

Pistons: these guys were in the playoffs?

My picks: The Cavs

Seriously, is there a team that can remotely pose a threat to the Cavs at the moment.

The only player on the Hawks with “deep” play-off experience is Bibby, so you know that’s going to be a sweep.

I’m calling it, the Celts will upset the Magic. Unless Turkoglu pulls his last minute clutchness magic, I don’t see any hope for the Magic. I feel bad for Stan Van Gundy. As soon as he started to smell a championship in Miami, he was pushed aside by Pat Riley. This year the magic were getting hot; only for Jameer Nelson to get injured.

With Lebron in the East, I honestly think that Dwight Howard is headed down the same path of Charles Barkley, Karl Marlone etc.--> Big Men who were denied championships because they went pro at the wrong time in history.

Uganda OutRage of the day

Here’s a funny quote by the Army/Defence Spokesperson, Maj. Felix Kulayigye during Saturday’s press conference at Central Police Station after Pte Mucunguzi massacred 8 innocent civilians.

He regretted the incident but also warned the general public to stop “unnecessary provocations” against soldiers.

“We regret his action. Whereas we shall continue to discipline our soldiers through the army code of conduct. We also request members of the public not to provoke our soldiers,” he said.

http://www.monitor.co.ug/artman/publish/sun_news/Museveni_guard_kills_8_in_city_bar_shooting_84250.shtml

Moral of the story: You unnecessarily provoke Ugandan Soldiers, you get shot!
